Brie and Beyond: Intro to Bloomy Rinds

Soft Ripened. Mold Ripened. Surface Ripened. All of these terms are used to describe the category of cheese we call “Bloomy Rinds.” It includes cheeses like Brie, triple crèmes like Brillat-Savarin, a ton of soft goat cheeses, and many more. In this class we’ll explore (and taste!) eight different examples of Bloomy Rind cheeses, and talk about each one. If you’ve taken our Cheese 101 class, you’ve learned about one example from this category -- now you can learn about 8 more, and experience the incredible breadth that this style of cheese has to offer. If you’ve never taken a cheese class before, but you love eating Bloomy Rind cheeses, this is a great introductory level class designed for the cheese beginner looking to learn a little more. 

 

Logistics: 
All tickets are nonrefundable. Tickets purchased for this class date cannot be exchanged for other class dates. We recommend purchasing tickets for your entire group in one transaction to ensure that everyone in your group gets a spot. Length of classes vary based on group participation, but generally run about an hour and a half. If you have food allergies, please speak with us before you purchase your ticket to discuss whether accommodations can be made. We are not able to serve alcoholic beverages in the shop, and unfortunately we cannot allow guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages into the store.
